Agricamping

A temporary housing system

The Agricamping project won the third prize at the Public Camping contest organized by Esterni.

This temporary housing system aims at creating a strong bond (through intentional and playful artificiality) between the supporters of a 'tip-toe' kind of tourism and an agricultural setting true to itself, in which guests are not passive spectators, but are actively involved in nature's cycle.

Crop rotation or Crop sequencing is the traditional way to cultivate crops in Milan countryside, which is the practice of growing a series of dissimilar types of crops in the same area in sequential Seasons.

In order to follow the crop rotation, some part of land need to take a rest for the next season to be cultivated.

Agricamping, as temporary housing system is following this crop rotation system in order to follow the sequence of nature. And also, to interact with the cascina system in a non invasive way, using the field that traditionally left unused.

Solar panels fitted on top of each unit will provide enough energy for each guest to be electricity-independent.

Extra energy is supplied directly to the farmhouse or the surrounding units of the camping.

Water is supplied periodically to the dwelling unit. An indicator will keep the user aware of the remaining biogas amount of water, thus preventing the habit of wasting it.

Solid waste collecting and re-use for the production of the remaining biogas.
